SPAN 343A - Advanced Grammar and Composition in a Spanish-Speaking Country


Prerequisite, SPAN 202 , or consent of instructor. Offered on location in a Spanish-speaking country as a summer or interterm travel course. This course comprises a rigorous writing component and a detailed review of Spanish grammar. This course will expand and refine students’ composition skills through the use of various writing techniques and strategies (such as pre-writing activities, building up on preliminary drafts and peer-editing). It will focus on three major modes of writing; description, narration, and argumentation (academic essay). In addition, this course will provide a detailed treatment of key topics in Spanish grammar and a review of selected vocabulary. Fee: TBD. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
