PD 578 - Concept Art and Illustration for Film II

Prerequisite, PD 557. This class will teach digital painting in Photoshop. We will study the work of Master Artists in various mediums to understand how to compose, frame, light, color, texture and finish a digital image. We will explore essential photoshop techniques including establishing a digital painting pipeline, layers and layer management, indicating materials and textures, photo compositing and special visual effects. This course is intended for beginners and intermediate digital painters interested in environmental design. Letter grade. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits
