PHS 623 - Instrumental Analysis

This course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience with many useful laboratory techniques, including instrument operation, recording data in a laboratory notebook, data analysis, and the preparation of scientific reports based on the obtained laboratory results. The course includes didactic and laboratory components focusing on the theory and practical application of analytical techniques in pharmaceutical, biomedical, and biochemical sciences. Students will receive hands-on experience with major laboratory techniques including Chromatography, Proteomics analysis, Mass-Spectrometry, NMR, X-ray crystallography, and other methods. Letter grade. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits
