MUS 456 - Song Literature and History

Prerequisite, pass MUS 102 or MUS 102B with a “C” or better, or consent of instructor. An overview of song literature from the late Renaissance to the present in historical and cultural context. Includes selected literature of composers and poets from Western and Eastern Europe, and the Americas. Some sections of MUS 456 may be taught with MUS 556. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits
