MUS 239 - Film Music

Prerequisites, introductory-level understanding of basic musical elements, consent of instructor. This course will cover the role of music in American, European, and World cinema, changes in film music style from the early silents to the current day, cross-cultural differences in the scoring of films, the compositional process when writing for film, and the process of adding music to film in post-production. (Offered spring semester.) 3 credits
