MUS 201H - Music of the Classic Rock Era


Open to non-music majors. This course examines the rapid development and expansion of rock music during the 1960’s and 1970’s. The class aims to explore the influence of American politics and popular culture in the rock music of this period. The course will critically reflect upon the expansion of rock into new subgenres and styles, and how these branches contrast and overlap with each other, as well as other non-rock styles of music. Letter grade with Pass/No Pass option. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits
